Royal Suit: What I’m Building
· Tyler Trahan
A robotics programmer’s game about ruling a kingdom and living with decisions, one consequence at a time.

I’m Tyler Trahan, a software programmer working in robotics. Royal Suit is the game I’m making around a question that interests me: what happens when being a good ruler means disappointing someone who depends on you? I want ruling to feel personal. A decision should change more than a number on a panel; it should affect a place, a relationship, and the choices you can make next.
You play a ruler in a Celtic-influenced fantasy world. The intended experience brings together political decisions, characters and relationships, settlements, and realm management. A request at Council can put the treasury, the food supply, and someone’s trust in conflict. There should be reasons to hesitate, even when an option sounds compassionate or practical. The people living with your decision should have something to say about it.
There is already a working project to show. The current game has player creation, an opening story and tutorial, a realm map, settlements, Council decisions, and a Chronicle that records choices. Characters have relationships, advisors have roles, and systems exist for family history, aging and succession. Those systems give me a foundation to write into. Their presence does not mean every possible interaction or story branch is complete.
The screenshot above is actual development gameplay. Other images on this site are story illustrations or character artwork, and I will identify those separately. Gameplay captures and story illustrations are identified separately.
Royal Suit currently runs inside Unity. There is no independently playable public build available yet. Steam, iOS and Android are planned platforms; that is a plan, not a statement that those releases have passed device testing or store approval. I am not announcing a release date, downloadable demo, finished battles or conquest. The planned story has three acts, with Act I intended to become the free demo, but that boundary and its authored content still need finishing.
I’m also developing a book set in this world. It gives me another way to explore its people and ideas, without making a book release or a supporter reward part of today’s promise. For now, I’m sharing progress publicly and working toward a coherent story, a public build, and testing beyond my own desk. Follow the development log if that sounds like a game you would like to see take shape. Optional one-time support, once the page is ready, will help me reserve development time rather than take freelance projects.
